This was a workable dish, although it could not all be fit in a half-casserole as suggested. For me, it fit more appropriately in a three-quarters casserole dish, and I used 20 ozs of the "Simply Potatoes" fresh hash browns from the refrigerated meat section and squeezed the moisture out of them between paper towels. Like some others, I found that in 45 minutes baking time, the egg & milk.

Holy Hashbrown Casserole! Be the first to review this recipe. Recipe by naptime4julie. This recipe is so amazingingly good but definately NOT good for you! Don't leave out the veggies-- they not only offer some nutritional value but rescue this dish from being totally sinful! My whole family loved it!

So I suspect and have reason to believe that associating the "Assassins" with unruly behaviour as a product of hash consumption was simply an "effective" way for those who wanted to throw mud at them. Point = your claim was that the Assassins were "known" for taking hash (implication - all or a lot of of them did it, often).

Assasins and hash, another false myth. Probably you have heard this story before. But it is not true. It is true that assassins existed. They were the elite of a private army created by the Persian leader Ismail in AD. Presumably, “assassin” comes from hashashin, a term used to describe the Nizari Ismailis.
